ROSE token is the native token of the Oasis Network. ROSE will fuel all transactions, staking, and delegation on the Oasis Network.
The story behind ROSE is that we wanted the token to stand as a representation for the network and Roses fit right in.
Historically they have often represented “secrecy”. Dating back to Ancient Greece, the Rose was seen as a symbol for secrets or privacy, used by Aphrodite as a gift in exchange for keeping the secrets of Gods.
In Ancient Rome this symbolism continued and the phrase “sub rosa” or “under the rose” was to mean “done in secret” or “under a pledge of secrecy”.
This phrase and the symbol of Roses as secrecy extended throughout history with the British Tudors era where state secrets were decided in a room with a large rose hanging from the ceiling.

1. The Oasis Network’s impressive scalability is achieved through a cutting-edge set of features that provide faster transaction speeds and higher throughput than other networks.
2. The top-tier performance of the network is largely due to its separation of compute and consensus operations into the Consensus Layer and ParaTime Layer.
This separation allows multiple ParaTimes to process transactions in parallel, meaning complex workloads processed on one ParaTime won’t slow down faster, simpler transactions on another.
Privacy-first:
1. The Oasis Network designed the first ever confidential ParaTime with support for confidential smart contracts. In a confidential ParaTime, nodes are required to use a type of secure computing technology called a TEE (Trusted Execution Environment.)
2. TEEs act as a black box for smart contract execution in a confidential ParaTime. Encrypted data goes into the black box along with the smart contract, data is decrypted, processed by the smart contract, and then encrypted before it is sent out of the TEE. This process ensures that data remains confidential, and is never leaked to the node operator or application developer
3. The Oasis Eth/WASI Runtime is an open source example of a confidential ParaTime that uses Intel SGX. Other secure compute technology, such as ZKP, HE, or other secure enclaves, can also be used. In the future we hope to support additional computation techniques such as secure multi-party compute, federated learning and more.

Let me provide a little bit context first before we dive into data tokenization. The decentralized nature of the Internet, in particular its end-to-end (e2e) principle, promised originally to put end users in charge of their online activities.
However, as it turns out, first the client-server arrangement of Web 1.0, and then the multisided platforms ecosystems of Web 2.0, ended up reducing the end users’ ability to control their digital identities.

The ROSE garden program was closed as of 11/18/2020, and we got over 6000 participants. The ROSE Garden is Oasis’ novel mechanism to reward the ROSE tokens to the community in exchange for making the network safer. The ROSE Garden has two components:

Due to the nature of the financial platform it can be easily expanded as the number of users increases, but security is mostly vulnerable. Security-related question I think that any project can be destroyed by weak security. As with all cryptographic implementations, programs implementing that algorithm are always far more vulnerable than cryptographic algorithms. Well to be honest, we have already ‘entered’ Korea, which is why we are holding this AMA. Our plans are to make the ForTube ecosystem (and the FOR token) as accessible as possible. Korea has always been a culture that was at the front of technology adoption, and we see them being really receptive to the expanding DeFi ecosystem. Even though culturally there are some differences, the ultimate objective of using technology to be more efficient with the assets available is universal. Once we get more exposure, we will continue to focus on different regions until FOR is one of the leading topics in the blockchain space.

This is a huge problem, and everyone knows it! Right now its hard for someone to go create a wallet, buy tokens on an exchange, send it to the wallet, and interact with dApps. This is gradually improving as the tools and exchanges we use become more effective. imToken is a great example of that, ForTube is available from within the mobile wallet, making it easier to get familiar with. DeFi mass adoption wont happen overnight, but we think the progress is there.

We always look at technologies that improve the ForTube user experience. For us, Binance Smart Chain was an easy decision since it made it faster and cheaper to interact with our smart contracts. To be honest, the geo-political situation around the world is very complex right now, and we’ve seen examples of voting systems that are very effective, and voting systems that aren’t. China is very united currently by the response to the COVID19 situation, where we have managed to stop the spread of the disease entirely by a concerted effort to wear masks in public, use hand sanitizer, and respect quarantines. I think if everyone was given a vote, there wouldn’t be any drastic changes, as people prefer the current situation to the instability in the US. Long-term, hard to say, but actually every Chinese person can already vote if they buy FOR and stake it on the governance portion of ForTube 😄

Could you tell us what are the obstacles to building a FIAT gateway?

Well, regulations. Its very difficult to handle being a Fiat gateway from a compliance standpoint, and that wouldn’t be a very efficient use of our resources. That’s why even top exchanges haven’t quite perfected the fiat gateway. We don’t want DeFi to be a tool for money-laundering and illegal activity. However, that’s not to say it (Fiat Gateway) won’t ever happen. The beauty of DeFi is that so many different components function together, it’s not hard to imagine a future where fiat gateways will be more common in decentralized ecosystems. First we need some more tools though, like decentralized identities, decentralized oracles, etc.

The IoTeX platform utilizes a unique architecture to meet the unique demands of Internet of Things (IoT) use cases. Our multi-layer architecture combines smart devices, IoT Cloud + decentralized storage, and blockchain. Let me describe each of these layers:

A better approach is to store/index the data on the IoT Cloud (e.g., AWS) or decentralized storage (e.g., IPFS, Sia) and “hash” the data to the blockchain, which provides verifiability and data provenance. When needed, this data can be written to the blockchain for use in smart contracts.
Blockchain Layer: the root of trust for the entire IoTeX Network. Our blockchain is open source and one of the fastest in the entire industry -- not only does it enable standard P2P transactions and smart contracts, but it is also used to register device identities and “hash” data (stored on Cloud/decentralized storage) to the blockchain.

WEAKNESS: One thing we need to work on is marketing. IoTeX operates at the intersection of three very complex technologies: blockchain, IoT, and privacy. Sometimes it is not as easy to make people understand why IoTeX is so special because they don’t understand all of the huge security and privacy issues with the current Internet of Things (IoT). It is true that successful projects need great technology AND great marketing. But I would rather invest in a company that has proven their technology and can improve on marketing, rather than a company with only great marketing but no real technology.

OPPORTUNITY: The biggest opportunity for IoTeX is the size of the IoT industry and the fact that nobody is doing what we are doing better than us. In fact, IoT is growing at a much faster rate than most industries. Today, there are 25 billion IoT devices around the world and there will be >100 billion IoT devices by 2025. 5. What is the difference between IoTeX's consensus and others?

The IoTeX Network utilizes Roll-DPoS consensus, which we designed in-house. To support the high scalability required for IoT use cases, IoTeX decided to use a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) design, but we also made significant improvements to traditional DPoS. Instead of a fixed number of Delegates (e.g., EOS has 21 block producers), IoTeX randomly selects 24 of the top 36 Delegates to mine blocks every hour. This randomness improves the decentralization and security of the overall network, without affecting the performance. Roll-DPoS enables IoTeX to be one of the fastest blockchains in the entire industry with 5-second block times and instant finality for transactions.

There are several great projects that are working on Blockchain & IoT, but it is important to understand what part of the tech stack they are used for. IoT requires many components to work; for example, IOTA is focusing on machine-to-machine payments, while Hedera focuses on sequencing transactions at low cost and high speed. These are definitely needed to support the future of IoT, but it does not cover everything that is needed.

This has been an interesting experience for us -- over the past couple weeks, we have discussed with the Upbit team regarding their new initiative to de-list “privacy coins” such as Zcash, Zcoin, and more. But IoTeX is NOT a privacy coin and we do NOT support anonymous/private transactions. The privacy that we focus on is not about sending money privately between people. Our version of privacy is to allow people to own their own data -- this means that they can choose to keep their data private, share it with others, or sell it to advertisers or third parties.

This is an important consideration -- today, the definition of “privacy” means different things to different people. But for IoTeX, the “what” is the data that comes from our smart devices (which we should already own today) and the “who” is tech giants that sell/manipulate our data without our consent. After discussing this with the Upbit team, I believe they will NOT de-list IoTeX as we do not have anything to do with anonymous transactions.

Our main goal for IoTeX this year is to welcome the world to build amazing things on our platform. Honestly, until now it has been a lot of work from the core team and a small subset of community members, but our goal is to build our ecosystem of builders and contributors.

IoTeX launched Mainnet Alpha (the first version of our Mainnet) in April 2019. Over the past year, we have made many improvements to the protocol. When we launched Mainnet Alpha, the IOTX token was originally launched on Ethereum as an ERC20 token.

Other tech-related things we have done over the past year is reduce block time by 50% (2x as fast) and also making several security enhancements to the blockchain. The reason why blockchain and Internet of Things technologies have not been commercialized so far is that the issue of scalability and security emphasized by public blockchain developers has not been resolved. As I mentioned in an earlier question, the IoTeX platform utilizes a unique architecture to meet the unique demands of Internet of Things (IoT) use cases. Our multi-layer architecture combines a trusted device layer, Cloud/decentralized storage layer, and blockchain layer. The combination of these three layers provides great flexibility for developers and builders.

To answer your questions about scalability -- many people think that ALL data from IoT devices must be written to the blockchain, but that is not true. The only thing that matters is “triggers” or data that represents a change in the real world that you want to be reflected in the digital world. Let me explain with an example: if you are a fish company in Japan and you want to ship your fish to Korea, you may use IoT devices/sensors to ensure that the fish is kept below freezing temperature, and if the fish is not handled properly a blockchain can automatically enforce the penalties via smart contracts. However, to do this you do not need to write every single piece of data to the blockchain -- all you need is the one time-stamped data point that shows the fish was not kept below freezing temperature. The entire dataset can be stored on the IoT Cloud or decentralized storage (e.g., IPFS), but only the “trigger” needs to be written to the blockchain to achieve the business requirements.

Another thing to understand is that a lot of computing today is done “on the edge” meaning on the device itself. Even small sensors can perform simple data validations, and more powerful devices like routers are being equipped with AI engines. This means there is less computation required in the lower parts of the tech stack, such as Cloud or blockchain. This is actually an example of “Layer 2” scalability, except instead of a verifiable/trusted blockchain as Layer 2, you have verifiable/trusted devices that can take on some of the responsibility. 지난주에 빗썸 거래소에 대해 트렌드, 움직임 패턴 등에 대한 분석을 해드렸고 빗썸의 라이벌인 업비트에 대해서도 빠질 수 없겠죠.
거래소에 관한 분석글은 모두 거래소에서 보여줬던 최근 움직임 패턴에 대한 분석일 뿐이지 미래에 대한 예측이 아닙니다.
그렇기 때문에 과거에 패턴에 의해서 앞으로의 방향성은 가질 수 있겠지만 확신은 금물이겠죠.

업비트
업비트는 17 ~ 18년도 국내 코인 투자자들의 80~90%는 사용했었다고 봐도 무방할 정도의 큰 거래소입니다.
그 당시 빗썸은 흔히 말하는 메이저 코인만의 거래를 지원했지만 업비트는 다양한 코인들의 거래를 지원했고 모바일 앱도 잘 만들어놨기 때문에 투자자들은 빗썸보다는 업비트를 좋아할 수밖에 없었습니다.
하지만 최근 빗썸 거래소에서는 [빗썸 트레이더] 라는 새로운 앱을 공개함으로써 기존에 사용하던 빗썸 앱보다 빠르고 편리한 모바일 거래를 지원하고 있으며 업비트보다 빗썸이 이벤트를 자주 진행하기 때문에 업비트의 이용자 수 보다는 빗썸의 이용자 수가 훨씬 많다고 생각됩니다.
그렇다면 최근 업비트의 움직임에는 무엇이 있을까요?

업비트 보라 프로젝트 관련 공시
또한 보라(BORA) 프로젝트 관련 공시는 4월 10일 오전 11시:48분에 업비트 공시를 통해 발표되었습니다.
하지만 가상화폐(암호화폐) 공시 플랫폼 : 쟁글(xangle.io)에서는 이미 4월 9일 등록이 된 내용이었습니다.
FTX 거래소는 카리브해의 앤티가바부다에 법인을 등록했으며 장외거래와 선물, 지수, 현물 거래를 지원하고 있습니다.
현재 트러스트 토큰(TrustToken), 서클(Circle), FBG 캐피털 등 다양한 기업들과 파트너십을 맺고 있으며 암호화폐 투자자들을 위해 간편한 거래 서비스를 지원하고 있어 구독자분들에게 소개를 시켜드리면 좋을듯하여 AMA를 진행해 보았습니다.

1. 비트맥스 (비트멕스)랑 비슷한가요?
네, FTX는 비트멕스와 동일한 레버리지 기반의 암호화폐 선물거래소입니다.
비트멕스와 마찬가지로 비트코인 기반의 무기한 선물계약 상품을 제공합니다. 다만, 저희는 비트코인 무기한 선물계약에 치중되는 비트멕스와는 다르게 사용자들이 폭넓은 암호화폐 시장의 계약 상품들을 접해볼 수 있도록 다양한 상품들을 제공합니다. 저희 거래소를 이용하시는 사용자 분들은 무기한 상품뿐만이 아닌 현물 (SPOT) 시장, 옵션계약 상품도 자주 거래하십니다.
2. 다른 곳과 무엇이 차별화되어 있으며 이 플랫폼을 사용해야 하는 구체적인 이유는 무엇이 있을까요?
네, 크게 2가지로 말씀 드릴 수 있는데요.

네, 인덱스는 암호화폐 시장의 성장 추세를 전제로 하여 개별 암호화폐에 투자하기보단 여러 암호화폐에 동시에 투자할 수 있는 포트폴리오입니다. FTX에서는 다양한 암호화폐 Basket (바구니)라고 표현합니다.
현재 FTX에 총 6개의 (EXCHANGE TOKEN, ALTCOIN, PRIVACY, MIDCAP, SHIT, DRAGON) 인덱스 선물계약이 있으며, 앞서 말씀드린 국내 주요 암호화폐들로 구성된 인덱스를 포함하여 앞으로도 계속 추가해나갈 계획입니다.
9. 최근 마진거래가 활성화가 되어있는데 반해 실제 코인거래는 하면서 마진거래를 못하는 분들이 많고 실제 마진을 잘 모르고 진행했다가는 큰 손해를 볼 수 있습니다. 따라서 FTX는 마진거래 활성화를 위해 초보자를 위한 교육자료라던지 혹은 튜토리얼 데모 시스템 운영을 지원할 계획은 없나요?
네, 마진거래는 고위험 상품이므로 거래를 하시기전 마진거래에 대해 충분히 이해하시는 게 먼저 선행되어야 합니다.
