Q1. 

What are the advantages of the OpenDAO project from other DeFi?

다른 DeFi의 프로젝트와는 달리 OpenDAO 프로젝트만의 장점은 무엇입니까?

 

A1. 

When it comes to legitimate projects with strong fundamentals, it is hard to say ‘better’ or ‘worse’, but we can make some fair comparisons:

- Compared to other projects that are tokenizing non-cryptocurrency assets, OpenDAO specializes more in off-chain assets, namely seamless access to real estate and stocks.

- Compared to DAI, OpenDAO’s oUSD will use a different code for maintaining its peg (same as Synthetix,) but it will be backed by real world assets. 

- The MAJOR difference between OpenDAO and other market players is that OpenDAO has figured out how to achieve enforcement against offchain defaults in a seamless manner, thus truly linking real world assets with the digital (and without KYC!) - that, I believe, is our biggest value proposition.

Can you explain how OpenDAO will integrate real assets?  Will it be through NFTs?  Will we really be "buying" those assets?  Or will they be just derivatives?  How do you set up the assets that users can buy?

Firstly, we need to establish that the tokenisation step is not something that OpenDAO will do directly, but instead we’ll be working with tokenisation / STO platforms to do this. 

Secondly, at least initially, we will be working with 3rd party lenders such as private lenders to property developers in the real world who will be undertaking any enforcement actions.

Our role will be primarily to provide the funds for these lenders, so think of lenders on the OpenDAO as the line of credit to these real world lenders.

Over time, once there is enough distribution on the platform, individuals with real estate assets can come directly to the platform to access funding, however that’s a little while off at this stage.

Can OPEN token holders decide on which assets can be used as collateral for the liquidity pools?

OPEN token holders will have administrative control of the entire protocol - the tokens will be available for purchase after listing. (though 50% are reserved for community incentives such as yield farming and lending.)

Ownership of the token allows for control over the OPM and the minter when it goes live, as well as anything else.

This would mean OPEN holders will determine which assets to allow, their interest rates, their collateral, and much more.

Most investors are only interested in the immediate benefits rather than the real long-term value of the project.

How can you convince investors to invest in your platform over the long term?

Those who understand the market cap opportunity of what we're tackling will want to hold long term.

We only have 100M supply after all, and we are working with potentially trillions in assets (The estimated market cap of real estate is more than 217 trillion dollars.

That being said, there will also be staking for liquidity providers to earn OPEN

Lenders/Borrowers on the OPM will also earn OPEN in addition to an extremely competitive APY (8%+) that we are looking to roughly double moving forward.

What is OpenDAO's future roadmap?

Our public token release is coming up VERY SOON!  We are continuing to expand our OPM (Open Market - opm.opendao.io LIVE NOW!) where we offer a solid APY 8%+ for deploying a variety of stable coins and in the near future plan to roughly double that number.

Our current novel CashBox system is already live for the public token sale, but we are also preparing to update to CashBox version 2 that will allow for a more straightforward and user friendly process - it’s basically like a DeFi order book that you can take ownership of.

Around the turn of the year, we’re going to be releasing our oUSD stable coin as well, backed by real world assets! We will even have an OpenDAO debit card coming out in a few months.

I think Oracle is essential for real assets to be connected with defi.

What kind of partnership do you have with the Oracle ecosystem such as Band, Chainlink, Dia, etc. at opendao?

Speaking more broadly about partnerships, we've been working closely with Ren Protocol and Chainlink.

We also have some great backers including Signum Capital, TRG Capital, and Moonwhale Ventures who collectively know most of the other projects in the space. We're also actively working on partnerships with existing STO platforms.

Do you think the view of the DEFI ecosystem is good?  There have been many recent declines in the market price, so I wonder what the team thinks about this.  And there are already many DEFI platforms, what is the difference between opendo?

We have been watching the DeFi market very closely and believe that things are just getting started.

People have had their fun with meme coins and food tokens, and as those projects begin to disappear, the real players will still be standing.

We addressed in another question how OpenDAO is different, but I’d like to share our 3-pronged approach with you:

We have developed 3 protocols, which when used together, will allow real-world assets to be utilised by DeFi in a meaningful manner, which is completely unique in this space.

These are:

● Cash Box + Open Stake - How we provide on-chain liquidity against off-chain assets and handle off-chain enforcement. 

● OPEN USD (oUSD) - How real world assets can serve as collateral to mint a stablecoin. 

● Open Market (OPM) - How users can lend against real world assets for a stable and high return, and conversely, how borrowers can utilise their real world assets as collateral.

Q8.

OpenDAO has a structure that provides collateral so that defi can be achieved. But it says that you can defi with real estate as collateral.  How is this possible?  I'm asking because I don't think it's easy to secure real estate.

OpenDAO는 담보를 제공하여 DeFi가 이루어질 수 있게 하는 구조를 가지고 있습니다. 그런데 독특하게 부동산을 담보로 하여 DeFi를 할 수 있다고 되어 있는데요. 어떠한 식으로 이것이 가능한 건가요? 부동산을 담보화 하는 것이 쉬운 문제가 아닐 것 같아서 물어봅니다.

 

A8. 

The Golden Question! Technically, the assets are not synthetics like they are on Synthetix, but they represent true assets in the real world. Let me give you an example of how this would work in practise:

Some of you might be aware of realt.co which is a property fractionalization platform where property is tokenized in the form of ERC20 and investors get the ERC20. This is an investment in a fund and people are getting shares, those who hold the ERC20 are essentially partial owners of the fund that owns the property. With a charge, in the form of a mortgage on the property, estate baron and konkrete did something similar as well - this is so someone cannot just sell the property.

Typically, if you are an investor in these funds, and you have an ERC20 that represents a property fraction, you can come to the OPM and borrow against it; the real world interfacing is happening via 3rd parties with proper legals, but beyond that if someone who borrows on the OPM using their property fraction collateral and does not pay, then liquidation occurs - similar to Compound. The liquidator now has the original collateral, and they can approach realt.co and get his ownership, however we are adding an essential interface step in between so the liquidator does not even have to worry about that whole process and simply gets cash in the form of stable coins… Seamless! Part 3 of the whitepaper details this and is a major ingredient in the secret sauce we have... although it is not so secret anymore is it?  :-)

In the DeFi ecosystem, users' great interest is the complement and convenience.  Among them, security is a problem directly related to assets.  What is OpenDAO doing to keep user funds safe?

A9. 

Great question and we understand your concern. Quill Audits completed their audit in October and things are looking good. We also just completed a separate cashbox audit with minimal issues that have already been addressed. We are still in beta, but that being said, the code is largely forked off preexisting code, such as compound and synthetix, which have proven viable thus far. Our efforts to test our own system, run ‘hackathons’ (hacking contests,) and commit to audits will be ongoing. 

On another note, one major issue in the DefI space recently has been ‘Rug Pulls”,’which usually happen with anon teams. They are also common with fly by night operators who cook up an idea overnight and try to maximize their gains before everyone realizes how worthless the concept, but we have been putting OpenDAO together since 2015, back in the equity crowdfunding days...

Perhaps this is a little shocking, but instead of saying "Trust us!" I will say "Trust human nature" and watch us act in our own self interest just like everyone else! Our self interest is best served by maximizing the potential of this project. Personally, we believe an OPEN token should be atleast 10-100X worth more than COMP in the long run.

I know that stablecoins are needed to participate in OpenDAO's CashBox beta test. Then, why did you think about introducing various stablecoins besides DAI? (Is it still because of the safety of the price?)

OpenDAO의 CashBox 베타 테스트의 참여를 위해서는 스테이블 코인이 필요로 한 것을 알고 있습니다. 그렇다면 DAI 외에도 다양한 스테이블 코인의 도입을 생각하게 된 이유는 무엇인가요? (아무래도 가격의 안전성 때문인지?)

We are currently using DAI just for simplicity during beta testing. However, in the very near future, anyone will be able to make their own CashBox with any number of assets. Also, for the public token release, we will of course make sure that people can buy OPEN tokens with a wide variety of stable coins. 

현재 베타 테스트 중 단순성을 위해 DAI를 사용하고 있습니다. 그러나 가까운 미래에 누구나 다양한 자산으로 자신의 CashBox를 만들 수 있습니다. 또한, 토큰 출시를 위해 저희는 물론 사람들이 다양한 스테이블 코인으로 OPEN 토큰을 구매할 수 있도록 할 것입니다.
