🎯 Polkastarter는?

Polkastarter는 크로스 체인 토큰 풀 및 경매를 위해 구축된 공개 형식(permissionless)의 DEX로, 프로젝트는 Polkadot을 기반으로 하는 분산되고 상호운용 가능한 환경에서 자본을 조달할 수 있습니다.

Q1.

I think DeFi, NFT and IDO are the hottest blockchain issues recently. In particular, the IDO is loved by many people and is known to have a huge competition rate along with a huge increase rate. I have a question that I always wanted to ask Polkastarter. On what basis does Polkastarter proceed with IDO? What factors are considered the most important?

We’ve launched almost exactly 4 months ago and you can imagine, that it has evolved over time. The Polkastarter application process is overseen by the Polkastarter team (3 Analysts + myself) and the Polkastarter Council, which includes members from Huobi, OKEx, Polygon, NGC and 9 others. We select projects that not only benefit the participants, but also advance and strengthen the industry as a whole.

The two guiding principles of our selection process are fairness and excellence. We’ve built a four step process to ensure all projects are analyzed equally and to keep the bar for quality and innovation high.

1. Initial Application: All projects submit their application through our Governance Portal, which captures basic information such as team backgrounds, project tokenomics, details of previous fundraising rounds, and core content like website and whitepaper.

2. Preliminary Due Diligence: our analysts read the whitepaper, tokenomics, assess the product roadmap, Github, and review the founders backgrounds and existing community and traction. Roughly 20% of projects make it beyond this stage.

3. Direct Assessment & Council Vote: we then meet with the team directly to dig deeper into the product, get to know the team personally, and analyze some of the inner workings of the project. If a project passes assessment by the Polkastarter team, it is handed over for review by the Polkastarter Council. Each council member can vote once, and must do so within a limited period of time. If 60% of the Council votes “yes” on the project, it is passed through to final approval. Roughly 30% of projects make it beyond this stage — i.e. 6% of original applications.

4. IV. Approval and Onboarding: If a project has made it this far, they are officially onboarded into the Polkastarter family! 🎉

From here, we set the date for the IDO and explore how our team can help them beyond the fundraise. This can include marketing, messaging and communication, and support with UI and UX.

4. 승인 및 온 보딩 : 프로젝트가 이 단계까지 통과했다면 공식적으로 폴카스타터 제품군에 등록됩니다! 🎉

Q2. 

The functioning of the DEFI industry is entirely based on the well-being of Ethereum. Is Polkastarter planning to take some of this monopoly in favor of Polkadot, or strengthen the Ethereum monopoly?

While Polkastarter is a decentralized and interoperable environment based on Polkadot, we enable cross-chain token pools and auctions, currently for both Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain. Just this week we had our first IDO to be completed simultaneously on both Ethereum and BSC networks with the project Genesis Shards, which raised $125,000!

Decentralized exchanges are paving the future of digital assets, and are a core component of DeFi. At Polkastarter, we strongly believe that the future of DeFi won’t be limited to a single exchange. Buying and moving assets between blockchains with ease will become a necessity rather than a nice-to-have. 

One of our priorities is to bring Polkastarter to new blockchains. And although we’re always going to focus first on Polkadot, we hope to extend to other blockchains like Polygon, Solana, Elrond, Avalanche and others. This vision brings true interoperability and cross-chain liquidity to Polkastarter!

Recently, the winner of a coin named Polkamon has become more interested in NFT, and I wonder if Polkastarter has a plan to do business related to NFT, a positive view of NFT, or a negative view of it.

The Polkamon project has a great vision, and we even have our very own Polkastarter NFT! 

We see NFTs as the single most exciting crypto technology of the moment. Offering a myriad of use cases and possibilities, NFTs have a perfect fit with what we are doing at Polkastarter, as this technology can be used as a whitelisting mechanism.

Because of this we decided to introduce the NFT farming mechanism in our roadmap for early Q2. Polkastarter token holders will be able to stake $POLS to get handcrafted NFTs. Those unique and exciting NFTs will then give access to the exclusive pools on Polkastarter.

The holders who don't win are having a hard time. So the price is going down a lot.

Is there a way to break this situation?

Yes, we understand that this is an issue and one we are actively trying to solve. Let me add just a few things.

1. We launched POLS at 5 cents, so the price is up nearly 80x since then, so early investors have done extremely well

2. We will publish shortly some in-depth statistics on how many people participated in the past 43 IDO’s and how much profit was made. I think people will be very surpised by the findings and the token will appreciate a lot with that information.

3. We are currently working on a complete new token utility which will make it fairer and will give more opportunities for POLS token holders to participate in future token sale.

The most popular project on sale at Polkastarter was Polkamon. There were many other projects that were successful. How Polkastarter selects a project. I'm curious about the project selection criteria when I see that it's always successful.

What kind of process should I go through to participate in the IDO of Polkastarter?

Due to the high demand among blockchain and crypto projects to launch with Polkastarter, most of the teams have implemented a whitelisting process in order to ensure they are reaching quality contributors in a fair and transparent way.

Just to fully understand the value of holding POLS. Each project receives between 40,000 to 2 million applications (lot of bots). Most projects have around 500 whitelist spots for each pool (POLS and public). Usually there is a 20-25% chance for POLS holders to win the lottery and get a whitelist spot, while it is usually under 1% for public spots. If you are participate in each whitelist event (there are usually 12-15 a month), there should be a very good chance to participate in 3-5 a month, which more than covers your initial POLS investment. AND you still have our amazing POLS token.

Delivering a fair and transparent whitelisting process is one of the biggest challenges in the IDO market. In Q1 we decided to move our whitelisting process on-chain in order to promote fair participation in our token sales and now we are ready to take the next step.

During Q2 we are going to announce a new whitelisting system that is more inclusive and gives higher chances to anyone trying to access our token sales. This system will use staking and liquidity providing mechanisms.
