🎯 Cyclos는?

Cyclos는 솔라나에서 자산이 거래되는 방식의 효율성을 극대화하기 위한 솔루션입니다. LP가 Serum에 제출된 오더에 있는 특정 가격 범위 내에서 유동성을 집중할 수 있도록 함으로써 거래자에게 소량의 거래를 하더라고 실제 호가에 액세스할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다.

Q1.

I am curious to know what inspired you to design Cyclos and what area you are currently focusing on.

Cyclos를 설계하게 된 동기와 현재 집중하고 있는 분야가 무엇인지 궁금합니다.

A1. 

To put it simply, we saw the value presented by concentrated liquidity and how it can radically improve the existing lack of depth experienced by users of Serum, particularly on asset pairs with not so much volume. We want as many DeFi users to switch over to Solana as possible, and for that to happen there must be 1. sufficient liquidity on order books, which can only happen if 2. LPs can receive competitive rewards for providing on Solana vs. other chains. Right now on other platforms which overlay Serum, the APY for LPs is abysmally low. We plan to change the playing field with our product.

Many investors rate TVL as the benchmark for project growth I wonder what kind of plans are in place to increase TVL

A2. 

We have both assistance from some of our backers, as well as a liquidity mining campaign we will use to attract TVL to the platform. Once users see how intuitive it is to open concentrated liquidity positions, and reap the benefits from potentially greater yields, they will stay.

Why should we choose Cyclos since there are other dexs in the Solana ecosystem? What is the advantage of using Cyclos?

솔라나 생태계에 다른 탈 중앙화 거래소가 있는데 왜 Cyclos를 사용해야 합니까? Cyclos를 사용하면 어떤 이점이 있습니까?

A3. 

The core value offering of our product is that we make your liquidity work more efficiently for you. Concentrating liquditiy is actually a very simple concept. When you go onto an AMM/DEX/liquidity provision platform and provide liquidity, your assets get distributed very thinly along a price curve from $0 to infinity. Most assets hover around particular price points over a given period of time- for example, let's say SOL is currently hovering around $100 dollars. If you provide liquidity through our competitor platforms, it is being spread very thinly across the underlying orderbook, such that your liquidity position <$100 per SOL and >$100 per SOL is not being utilized at all, and thus, not earning you any rewards. What if you could place 100% of your capital very tightly around the price that SOL is trading i.e. between $95-$110, if SOL is trading around $100? This allows for a situation whereby you as an LP are utilizing all of your capital for making the market, which should net you much higher rewards. For traders trading on the orderbook, it also allows them to execute much higher volume trades, because there are more counter orders around the current price of the asset to trade against. This makes for a deeper orderbook that encourages more trading, and consequently, rewards those LPs who have open positions around the current trading price of whichever assets they are providing liquidity for.

A lot of sol-based projects are coming out. Cyclos is also based on sol. Various projects are coming out, so hackers are trying to hack projects based on sol. Does Cyclos have enough preparation for hacking?

Right now, we are having our platform audited by one of the top security firms in the blockchain space. We will share those results publicly once the security audit is done. The safety of our users' funds is our number one priority.

Q5.

A strong community is important for a project to succeed. What strategies do you have to expand and grow the community?

A5.

This is all too true. We have several underlying ethos as part of our community building. The first is quite simple- the founders are available to directly interact with the community, and we do so on a regular basis. We make it a point to ensure we as product creators are there to answer questions and work together with the more engaged users who feel they too have a stake in the success of the project. Coming from a background where I had the chance to see what types of strategies really succeed in the longrun when it comes to community building, this is key. In a similar vein, we also will soon be launching campaigns for video and written content creation on how to use our core product i.e. the concentrated liquidity market maker. Who better to explain to the world in many languages what Cyclos is and why DeFi users should use it, better than the community themselves? Finally, we plan to offer support for the product in multiple languages, to make interacting with the product more intuitive and comfortable for a global user base. Beyond that, later this year we will be incubating more projects on the platform and using our community as a springboard for launching those products into the ecosystem.

Q6.

Cyclos is curious to see how AMM judged that the project could grow and develop on the Solana blockchain compared to other blockchains. Also, I wonder what the advantages of the Solana ecosystem are for developers working at AMM and what position they plan to hold compared to Uniswap in the long term.

Cyclos는 AMM이 다른 블록체인과 비교하여 솔라나 블록체인에서 프로젝트를 어떻게 성장하고 개발할 수 있다고 판단하였는지 궁금합니다. 또한 솔라나 생태계는 AMM에서 일하는 개발자가 갖는 장점은 무엇이며  장기적으로 유니스왑과 비교하여 어떠한 포지션을 유지할 계획인지 궁금합니다.

This is a very good question. There are a number of advantages to launching Cyclos on Solana, versus other chains. At the most basic level, our idea of bringing concentrated liquidity to orderbooks would not be possible on most other chains, because they are not fast enough when it comes to throughput speeds. There were orderbook-based DEXs on Ethereum, but they are simply too slow. Serum changed all that. Not only is a high-throughput orderbook based DEX like Serum possible on Solana, but they have actively encouraged projects like ours to integrate with their DEX as an overlay. Instead of bootstrapping TVL from scratch, we see a big advantage in improving the experience for liquidity providers within an existing DeFi ecosystem. 

If we compare Cyclos directly with Uni V3, there are a number of advantages we hold. Firstly, low gas fees makes opening positions and changing positions on Cyclos exponentially cheaper compared to Uni v3. This also incentivizes users to concentrate their positions around even tighter price points. Also, we use order books (more capital efficient) and liquidity can be deposited in any ratio (rather than set rations like 50/50, making it much easier/convenient for users). We like to think of this as a better iteration of what Uni V3 planned to achieve.

Q7.

Cyclos' white paper was very impressive that it was one page! However, I was sad that I couldn't see the road map that most people provided, what is Cyclos' biggest goal and plan for the second half of this year?

We have a roadmap and are happy to share it here. Most of our time has been spent on building the product and spreading awareness, not so much ticking the boxes with things like 20 page long whitepapers etc. Our main goals right now are 1. to launch v1 in the next coming weeks 2. to attract a core userbase to the platform through our liquidity mining campaign and 3. to automate capital repositioning so users who choose to can "set and forget" their positions.
